Patrick Doyle is a composer in the field of classical music. He has scored several films such as Henry V (1989), Sense and Sensibility (1995), Hamlet (1996) and Gosford Park (2001). He has also done scoring for some major block buster films including Rise of the Planet Apes, Thor, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Eragon.
He was born in Scotland and graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and was made a fellow of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2001. While he was a student, he majored in piano and singing. After joining the Renaissance Theater Company in 1987 he went on the serve as a composer and musical director for a number of plays such as As You Like It and Look Back In Anger.
Over the course of Doyle’s career, he has been nominated for two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes among several other nominations for his work such as nominations for the BAFTA Awards. Satellite Award and Saturn Awards.
